We are everyday people . . .. . . who have come together to build our relationship with Jesus Christ in hopes that we can reflect His character through our life. We desire a spirit of authentic community, where we worship, study and serve together. We know that as we grow as Christians, our life will become more fulfilling and purposeful and others will see Christ through us. Our slogan is: “A Place For Hearts to Belong and Grow Strong.” In this spiritual family known as Heartland Church, we welcome everyone in grace, with the hope that they will come to understand the love and grace of God and the purposes He has for their life.
We are a “family” . . .. . . of Christians who have been drawn together by God for the purpose of building each other up so that we can live out God's desire to impact the community of Tracy, California. Our church, which was built by the congregation, is located on the south side of Tracy. Our services are on Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., give or take, depending on the fun people are having. Our weekly attendance ranges from 80–110 people. We recognize our connection with other churches and Christians in the community and believe strongly that we are connected together through our faith in Jesus Christ.
We belong to a “body” . . .. . . of Christians that stretches far beyond our local church. We are united with other churches and Christians in the community, sharing in the work and purposes of Christ’s Church. While each church may have different understandings of certain teachings of scripture and tasks that God has called them to do, we believe that our our faith in Jesus Christ as part of the Trinity of God and the only means of salvation is what unites us together.
We are part of a “denomination” . . .. . . known as the Christian Reformed Church (http://www.crcna.org/) that first came into existence in North America in 1857. The denominational name Christian Reformed Church (CRC) was chosen to signify our strong beliefs. We are “Christian” because we believe in the traditional Christian truths found in God’s Word, the Bible (see "What We Believe?). We are “Reformed” because we believe there is an ongoing transformation process in the Christian life where the Holy Spirit adjusts every area of our life to be in line with what the Bible teaches. We are, therefore, reforming our life to reflect the character of Jesus Christ. We are a “Church" because we know we belong to Jesus Christ and are part of one body, made up of both our local church and the broader body of all Christians everywhere. |
